Bespoke Contracts
We can advise on the most appropriate procurement route to achieve your requirements
- We can also draft bespoke building contracts on all forms of contracting from traditional to design and build, construction management and management contracting, as well as variations on those methods to meet your needs.
- We understand that commercial developments need to meet the funder's requirements, whether that be end users, banks or other third party funders.
Standard Contracts
The use of industry standard forms (such as those from the JCT and NEC suites) promotes consistency and understanding across the industry:-
- We can advise you on when to use them or when bespoke contracts are appropriate
- Where relevant we will propose amendments to them, although our pragmatic, commercial approach is to keep amendments to the minimum
We are highly experienced in working with all the common standard form contracts including JCT, NEC and ICE.
The Joint Contracts Tribunal Limited (JCT)
- This suite of contracts are the most commonly used contracts in the construction industry for traditional to design and build, construction management and management contracting.
The NEC Engineering and Construction Contract (previously the New Engineering Contract)
- The standard form documents have been endorsed by the UK Office of Government Commerce and recently by the London Olympic Delivery Authority. Contractors, consultants and sub-contractors must therefore be able to work with the contracts or risk losing out on lucrative projects.
The Institution of Civil Engineers Contract
- This contract has been in existence since 1945 and has been the contract of choice for all major civil engineering projects in the UK for over 50 years. Over that period the ICE have introduced additional forms of standard contracts such as Design & Build, Target Cost, Term Version and Minor Works.
