Helping you to buy an auction property
You may be thinking about purchasing a property through an auction house. Before the auction, you must carry out thorough
checks and investigations on the property ahead of the auction as when the gavel drops, you will have entered into a legally binding contract.
At Nelsons, we have one of the largest teams of conveyancing solicitors in the East Midlands, helping hundreds of families in Derby, Leicester and Nottingham in buying properties sold at auction every year.
Contact Us TodayConveyancing process – buying an auction property
When you have found a property you are interested in and before the auction:
- Contact us to give us details of the house you want to buy.
We will send you:
- A quotation, together with our terms and conditions.
- An instruction form to complete with details about you, the seller and the transaction.
- We will need proof of your identity to comply with Money Laundering legislation, or you can permit us to undertake verification checks.
We will then:
- Obtain the legal pack provided by the Auction House, which should contain information about the title deeds, special conditions of sale, searches and any other important documents.
- We will provide a thorough report on the title and the documents provided to us by the Auction House to ensure that you have a good understanding of the property before the auction.
- If you are successful at the auction, we will then see the transaction through to successful completion.
