Nelsons represented Mrs B in a claim against a major pharmacy after it dispensed the wrong medication.
Mrs B was collecting a repeat prescription of Fluoxetine from the pharmacy. She took the medication for one month before establishing that it was the incorrect medication and was actually Finasteride, a medication which is given for enlarged prostates. The drug was only licensed for use in men.
As a result of taking this medication, Mrs B suffered from itching and blistering on her hands with painful pimples on her tongue. She also suffered a significant degree of psychological problems attributed to missing out on her usual anti-depressant medication, including mood disturbance for around six to seven weeks.
Our expert Medical Negligence team was able to settle the claim for a four-figure sum. If you would like more information or advice on pursuing a claim for compensation, please contact us today.
