The Ministry of Justice has published figures showing that so far it has only issued £6.6 million tribunal fee refunds of the £33 million owed to those who paid fees in the Employment Tribunal prior to the fee regime being abolished.
Initially, the Government said it did not intend to contact people to notify them of their entitlement but changed that plan when the levels of refunds were highlighted as lower than expected and is now contacting around 10,000 people per month.
