Compensation claims for hit and run accidents

If you are unfortunate enough to have been injured in a hit and run accident that was not your fault, you may be able to make a compensation claim. You may also be able to claim compensation if you were injured by an uninsured driver.
It may be possible to make a claim against the driver if they are traced by the police. If the driver cannot be traced, you can make a claim with the Motor Insurers’ Bureau (MIB), a Government organisation which assists victims who have been injured by an uninsured or untraced driver.
You can deal with the MIB directly, but the procedure may be complicated and lengthy, and we offer expert advice and assistance with these types of claims.
