Specialist solicitor Rachel McCahill has been chosen to sit on the independent judging panel of the prestigious industry Turnaround, Restructuring and Insolvency (TRI) Awards.
The TRI Awards, now in its 11th year, champions the work and commitment of firms, teams and individuals in turnaround, funding, corporate restructuring, insolvency and personal debt advice.
Rachel, Partner in our corporate and personal, bankruptcy and liquidations team, will be helping to judge the award’s 26 categories – which includes Corporate Rescue of the Year, Turnaround of the Year, Diversity Champion and the Rising Star Award.
Rachel, who qualified as a solicitor in 1999 and joined Nelsons in 2013, said:
“It is an honour to have been chosen to sit on the judging panel of the TRI Awards, the most prestigious awards for the insolvency and restructuring industry.
“There have been a number of high profile insolvency cases in the press recently, including House of Fraser. The TRI Awards aims to shine a spotlight on those who are beacons of best practice in the world of business recovery, working tirelessly to restore companies and much-loved brands to a sustainable position.”
This year, the TRI Awards has added five new categories, which aim to recognise individual and company-wide efforts to promote diversity in the workplace, as well as champion the achievements of smaller insolvency practices.
“As well as recognising those who are saving jobs and businesses, the scheme also awards those who by virtue of their outstanding work are benefiting the perception of their profession.
“I am looking forward to being involved in the judging process to award those who are leading the way in business rescue, corporate restructuring and creditor engagement by providing consistent, excellent service to clients.”
Nominations opened in May, with the final deadline for entries being 14 September. The final, which includes a black tie dinner and ceremony, takes place at the Hilton Bankside hotel in London on 6 November.
