We have promoted two employees within our expert Commercial Property and Family Law teams in Leicester. Real estate specialist, Kirsty Mayfield, has been promoted to Legal Director, while Naomi Bond has been promoted to Senior Associate in the Family Law team.
Following our recent acquisition of Pattersons Commercial Law in November 2023, Kirsty joined us as a Senior Associate, having progressed from an Associate Solicitor in just five years. Specialising in sales and purchases, leases, licences to assign and occupy, and corporate support work where a property is involved, Kirsty will continue to support the real estate team’s goals.
She said:
“I began my career as a chartered conveyancer before cross-qualifying as a solicitor in 2020. While I trained in residential real estate, my passion has been commercial property, where I’ve spent the last few years developing my knowledge and progressing my career in this area.
“It’s been an exciting time becoming part of Nelsons late last year and we’ve all settled in really well. The culture is so similar to Pattersons that it feels like we’ve been a team for years. The department works hard at building new relationships and networking in the local area, which results in a steady stream of work and new enquiries.
“My primary focus in this role is to support the junior members of the team with progression and increasing their knowledge of different types of transactions and how across the team we can utilise our various skill sets for success.”
Noami’s expertise is in family law, where she offers expert legal advice on of marriage and civil partnership breakdowns, private children matters, complex financial situations during divorce and cohabitation agreements and disputes.
Having joined us in 2022, Naomi has shown continued progression and was this year won ‘Junior Solicitor of the Year’ at the Leicestershire Law Society Awards.
Our Chief Executive, Stewart Vandermark, said:
“Welcoming the Pattersons team has allowed us to bring a number of very talented lawyers to our Leicester office and Kirsty is proof of this. Her expertise in commercial property and passion for supporting the progression of junior members makes her a valuable asset to Nelsons.
“Naomi has also received many accolades in the last two years at Nelsons, and she has flourished in her specialist area, empowering clients and colleagues alike. I’d like to congratulate both on these much-deserved promotions.”
