We are pleased to announced our three chosen charities for the coming year.
Every year, our staff vote for the charities they wish to support across our Derby, Leicester and Nottingham offices.
Through various fundraising events this year, members of our Nottingham office will be supporting the Pintsize Theatre Company, Leicester employees will be raising money for LOROS Hospice and in Derby, the team will be backing Alzheimer’s Society – which has now been chosen by all three of our East Midlands-based offices.
Stewart Vandermark, our chief executive, said:
“We are delighted to be able to support the work of all three charities for the next 12 months. It is important for us at Nelsons to support local causes that make real differences to the lives of others.”
Ian Court, theatre manager at Pintsize Theatre Company, said:
“It is a huge honour to be one of the nominated charities Nelsons is choosing to support in the coming year. We are a local Nottingham-based charity, which uses theatre in education to promote coping and avoidance strategies in relation to risks faced by young people in our area.”
Magdalena Korytkowska, partnership development lead at LOROS, said:
“We are very excited about this wonderful opportunity to work alongside Nelsons colleagues in Leicester. I have recently met with the team and I loved their enthusiasm towards the work of the hospice.”
Danni Hindle, community fundraiser for Alzheimer’s Society in the East Midlands, added:
“We are delighted to be Nelsons’ chosen charity for a third year and we want to thank the staff again for uniting against dementia.”
Last year, our staff chose to support Bloodwise, Derbyshire Mind and Alzheimer’s Society. In total, we raised £17,250 for the charities across the East Midlands.
