Davina, who qualified in 2016 and joined us two years later as an Associate where she has since been promoted to a Senior Associate, said:
“I’m honoured to have been named ‘Junior Lawyer of the Year’ at this year’s Derby and District Law Society Awards. Interacting with, and helping, my clients is one of the most rewarding parts of my role, so to have been recognised for my work is extremely humbling and I look forward to continuing to support and empower my clients in the years to come.”
In November 2019, Davina became one of just a few fully accredited members of Solicitors for the Elderly – a specialist group of lawyers that have been judged to have a wealth of experience and training that helps put older and vulnerable people at ease when dealing with complex, life-changing issues.
“Ensuring that the voice of the elder generation is heard is something that’s very important to me, and that’s only become more crucial during the Covid-19 pandemic when so many people have been affected by the virus.
“Helping to take even a little bit of pressure off someone’s shoulders, at what can often be extremely challenging periods in their lives, gives me great satisfaction as I know I am helping to put their minds at rest, particularly at such an unprecedented time that’s been full of unknowns.”
Helen Salisbury, Partner and head of our Wills and Probate team in Derby, said:
“We’re very proud of Davina for winning this award. Since she joined Nelsons three years ago she’s been an invaluable asset to our team, always going above and beyond to empower her clients, and this accolade is a testament to her hard work and dedication.”
