We have continued our ongoing support for the baby loss charity Forever Stars, as part of a special programme of Baby Loss Awareness Week events.
The charity, which was set up by Michelle and Richard Daniels following the loss of their daughter Emily, is hosting a series of events throughout the dedicated awareness week running 9-15 October 2026.
We have been supporting Forever Stars as its nominated charity for their Nottingham office and kitted out its Forever Stars Football Club (FSFC) players in branded jackets prior to the charity game against John Pye Auctions on Sunday 11 October. The event also included a raffle, stallholders and food outlets all supporting the fundraising efforts.
Richard Daniels, chair at Forever Stars, said:
“The relationship between Nelsons and Forever Stars is one that we are incredibly proud of, and its continued support makes a genuine difference to the work we do across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. The sponsorship of Forever Stars Football Club (FSFC) is particularly important as we continue to develop and expand our men’s mental health and wellbeing support for fathers who have experienced baby loss. What started as an opportunity to bring bereaved men together through football has grown into a fantastic community of over 30 players, all connected by their shared experience of losing a baby.
“With monthly training sessions and regular matches, the team provides so much more than football. It creates friendships, encourages conversations, reduces isolation, and offers a supportive environment where men can talk openly, without judgement, to others who truly understand. It was particularly special to showcase Nelsons’ sponsorship at our recent Baby Loss Awareness Week football match in Wollaton, demonstrating how meaningful corporate partnerships can help us make a lasting difference. We are incredibly grateful to Nelsons for believing in what we are building and for helping us ensure that bereaved fathers have a community where they feel supported, understood and never alone.”
Shrdha Kapoor and Carolle White, from our Medical Negligence team, also took on the One Step at a Time walk as part of Baby Loss Awareness Week. This full-day challenge comprised 26 miles across Nottingham and was the biggest since its inception five years ago, with more than 70 walkers in attendance. The diverse group of participants included many local businesses, all helping to raise awareness and funds for families affected by baby loss.
Throughout its partnership, we have raised funds through various initiatives including skydives and quizzes, as well as volunteering at the charity’s Serenity Garden earlier this year. These efforts have made a meaningful difference, helping Forever Stars continue its vital work supporting families across Nottingham.
Shrdha Kapoor, associate and solicitor, said:
“Supporting Forever Stars and helping to raise both awareness and vital funds for such an important cause has been a true privilege. The work that Richard, Michelle and every single volunteer at Forever Stars do so tirelessly and selflessly to support families through the devastating experience of baby loss is truly invaluable.
“The team’s dedication, compassion and commitment make a real difference to so many people at an incredibly difficult time. Events like these are a wonderful way for the local community to come together, have fun and raise money to help ensure families receive the support they need when they need it most.”
