Leading corporate lawyer Alice Rees has been announced as the newest Partner at our Nottingham office.
Alice joined Nelsons as a Trainee Solicitor in 2004, before qualifying two years later. She specialises in corporate law, including mergers and acquisitions and company formations and reorganisations.
Alice said: “I am very proud to have been promoted to Partner at Nelsons and feel this is recognition of my commitment and dedication over the past 14 years with the firm.
“Being able to support businesses from incorporation through to exit, including everything in between, means we have some very long-standing and loyal clients that we have worked with for many years. It is great to build relationships with them and see their companies grow and develop over time.”
Alice graduated with a law degree from Nottingham Trent University in 2002 and completed her LPC at Nottingham Law School a year later. She is now looking forward to building on the continued success of the law firm.
She said: “The corporate law team is well-established and there is a lot of mutual trust among us. My priority going forward is to work with and support my fellow Partners as we look to grow the department and it’s really exciting to be a part of that.
“I am also looking forward to supporting and helping to develop our junior lawyers so they can achieve their full potential. I came to Nelsons as a trainee and have worked my way up through the ranks to Partner – there is a great support network here and I’m excited to see them grow and develop as people and lawyers.”
Chief Executive at Nelsons, Stewart Vandermark, said: “Alice has shown continued professionalism and dedication to her role and clients throughout her time at Nelsons which has led to her promotion. I am thrilled she has built her expertise and skills with us over the years and I am delighted to welcome her to the partnership.
“Alice started with us as a trainee and has illustrated how, with hard work and dedication, our lawyers can build careers at Nelsons. Alice is full of new ideas to grow and develop the corporate law department and help us deliver on the vision we have set out. She fully deserves her promotion.”
