Stewart has been Managing Partner of Nelsons since 2017, overseeing year on year growth, leading the firm’s strategic development, cultural evolution and market positioning during a period of significant change in the legal sector.

In 2023, Nelsons became part of Lawfront, creating new opportunities for investment, collaboration and long-term growth. Stewart is passionate about building a high-performing business that combines outstanding client service, strong defined culture and commercial excellence, while ensuring the firm continues to evolve in a rapidly changing marketplace.

Stewart has a particular interest in leadership, organisational culture, pricing strategy and the impact of AI on professional services. He is a regular speaker at industry conferences, events and webinars, discussing leadership, management and the future of legal services. Stewart was awarded Company Leader of the Year (100+ employees) at the East Midlands Leadership Awards,

Before moving into full-time leadership, Stewart was a Partner in Nelsons’ Dispute Resolution team, specialising in intellectual property, commercial litigation and insolvency. He was consistently recognised by Chambers and Legal 500 as a leading practitioner in his field.

Alongside his role at Nelsons, Stewart has served as a Trustee and Director of Framework Housing Association and Threshold Housing Link, and currently serves as a Churchwarden in his local community.
