We are delighted to announce that we have promoted four employees at our Derby office on Lodge Lane.
Children law specialist, Gareth Protheroe, who qualified as a Solicitor in 2014, has been promoted to Partner from Legal Director, having joined us in 2016.
His expertise covers a wide range of children’s law including care proceedings representing parents and children and private children matters. Gareth is an accredited member of the Children’s Panel and therefore able to represent children directly.
Gareth said:
“It’s always great to have your work recognised – however, I couldn’t have got to where I am now without my colleagues. Often the work we do is complex with tight timescales, so teamwork is essential. For this reason, the department continues to go from strength to strength so I’m excited to see what the future holds.
“On a personal level, I’m also grateful for the support from Melanie Bridgen – whom I also worked with before joining Nelsons – as well as Emma Davies and Stewart Vandermark. It’s good to know the firm is invested in you and your success.”
Solicitors Ruby Ashby, Liz Mills and Natasha Roberts have also been promoted to Senior Associates.
Ruby works in our Dispute Resolution team, specialising in inheritance and trust disputes, data breaches and defamation claims. Liz, who is part of our Corporate department, provides advice on acquisitions, mergers and disposals, company formations and reorganisations.
In our Family Law team, Natasha Roberts’ area of expertise includes domestic violence, child arrangements and care proceedings. She is also a member of Resolution – a specialist organisation for family justice professionals in England and Wales.
Our Chief Executive, Stewart Vandermark, said:
“It is fantastic to announce these well-deserved promotions and I would like to congratulate everyone for their achievements. Gareth, Ruby, Liz and Natasha each show expertise in their roles but also a real commitment to embodying Nelsons’ values and behaviours, so it is great to recognise their hard work in this way.”
