Insolvency experts at Nelsons will be holding an interactive forum for businesses and practitioners across the region.
The free event – hosted at our Leicester office on New Walk – will take place on Wednesday 19th September between 9.15am and 11.45am and will cover a range of issues for insolvency practitioners and their staff, those who advise within the corporate restructuring and insolvency arena, and those within in the business community.
The forum will be chaired by Nelsons’ expert restructuring and insolvency Partner, Rachel McCahill.
“There have been a number of high profile insolvency cases in the press recently including House of Fraser and Carillion. However, every insolvency situation is unique and from large scale liquidations to personal bankruptcy, each case must be handled differently.
“Our informal forum will cover a number of common issues faced by the industry and act as a great platform for continuous personal development as well as providing the opportunity to network with others working in this specialist area.”
Delegates will also be able to hear from Alison Morgan, Insolvency Manager in the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales’ quality assurance department, who will be providing advice for insolvency practitioners on how they can avoid common pitfalls, complaints or regulatory action.
Amit Gupta, specialist insolvency Barrister from St Philips Chambers, will be speaking about finance-backed assets of companies in administration, including a discussion on retention of title clauses, use of proceeds of sale, third party rights and court applications.
Daniel Brumpton, Partner, who specialises in claimant professional negligence-related litigation at Nelsons, will be discussing how professional negligence claims can act as an asset within the insolvency estate.
