A team from the Nottingham office of law firm, Nelsons has advised long standing client Alltruck plc as it continues its expansion through a series of transactions.
Alltruck is a company which specialises in contract hire, truck rental, fleet management and workshop service and maintenance. Founded in 1990, managing director Paul Robinson and finance director Debbie Halliday led an MBO of the business from Bank of Scotland in 2000.
The latest expansion of the Alltruck business involved the acquisition of the business, assets and undertaking of John Mann Workshops, based at Sleaford, giving Alltruck a base to enable it more efficiently to service its customer base in the eastern part of the UK. In addition, Alltruck has consolidated the vehicle rental business which it acquired through a sister company in 2007 into the group and, at the same time, has relocated its Nottingham depot to new premises in Colwick.
Duncan Taylor, head of corporate services in Nelsons’ Nottingham office, led the team in relation to the transactions with support from Ziaur Rahman on corporate matters, Bill Jackson on property issues and Andy Jamieson on employment issues.
Duncan Taylor commented: ”We have enjoyed a working relationship with Alltruck going back to advising in relation to the original MBO in 2000. Notwithstanding the economic pressures of the past few years, the business has continued to expand which is a reflection of its dynamic management team and its customer driven approach and I have no doubt these latest transactions will see them go from strength to strength."
Paul Robinson, managing director of Alltruck, commented: ”We managed to come out of the recession in a stronger position than we entered it. These acquisitions further enable us to deliver on our promises to both our staff and customers. The new depots will be supported by an additional £7m of new trucks recently ordered.”
A team from Chattertons Solicitors in Grantham (Emma Clayden and Caroline Cropley in relation to corporate issues and Robert Alcock in relation to property matters) advised John Mann Workshops on the disposal of its business to Alltruck.
