In January 2009, Mrs F was a passenger on a bus travelling in Derby when a vehicle emerged from a side road and into collision with the side of the bus. As a result of the collision, Mrs F was thrown against the side of the bus and suffered a wrenching injury to her back.
Liability was admitted.
Medical evidence was obtained from a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in July 2010. Mrs F had a history of pre-existing asymptomatic back pain and the accident had aggravated her symptoms by a period of 5 years. Compensation of £7,500 was awarded.
