Employment Tribunals can be costly and time consuming for employers so it’s not surprising that businesses go to great lengths to avoid them. With the removal of Tribunal fees in 2017 there have been an increasing number of employees turning to the Employment Tribunal to resolve disputes about their work.
If your business were to find itself on the receiving end of a tribunal claim would you know what to expect?
Nelsons’ Employment Law Team is pleased to invite you to attend an online Mock Employment Tribunal on 20 January 2021.
During the session we will guide you through a scenario based on a real claim, which focuses on the dismissal of a male employee following an allegation of sexual harassment made against him by a former colleague. We hope to give you a unique insight into the workings of the Employment Tribunal, with you joining the action on the morning of the hearing, experiencing first-hand how an Employment Tribunal examines the evidence and applies the law to reach its judgment. The hearing will be conducted by Nelsons’ Employment Law Team with our very own “Judge Kearsley” delivering the final judgment.
You will have the opportunity to discuss the outcome and ask questions of our team of specialist employment lawyers who will also share their top tips for employers in minimising the risks associated with dismissals.
The Mock Tribunal will commence at 9.30am and will finish at approximately 11.30am. During this time there will be the opportunity to ask questions.
We will be using Microsoft Teams and a link/joining instructions will be sent out in advance to those that have accepted the invitation. You will need a device with a camera and microphone to participate.
The session will be relaxed and informal so do not worry about small people, pets and any other gate-crashes that may wish to participate!
