Succession Planning for Business Owners – The Tax & Legal Pitfalls

February 25 @ 8:30 am - 10:30 am

Nelsons are holding a joint seminar with international accounting and business advisory firm Mazars LLP, looking at succession planning for business owners.

The day-to-day demands of running a private, owner-managed business can often mean that it is hard to find the time to consider a robust succession plan.

The long-term survival of a business, and the preservation of wealth for the owners, will depend on the owners having a succession plan in place.

If you already have a plan in place, it is important to regularly review this to ensure that you are up to date with ever-changing tax regulations and legislation.

We are holding a seminar focussing on how a robust succession plan can:

  • Help reduce taxes
  • Protect your business in the event of death or loss of mental capacity
  • Encourage future growth within the business
  • Pave the way for retirement

During this seminar a number of case studies will be considered, identifying the common pitfalls from a taxation and legal perspective that could generate an outcome that is not in line with the owners’ expectations. We will also consider what actions are required by business owners to avoid such pitfalls.

Speakers at this event will include: Catherine McCannah; Nadia Faki; Gary Collins; and Natasha Amos.

Programme Information

Registration and refreshments will be from 8.30am with the seminar commencing at 9.00am. We expect to finish at around 10.30am, where there will be the opportunity to ask questions on an individual basis. There is no charge to attend.
