After sustaining an injury at work Nelsons were instructed to pursue a claim for compensation for Miss A.
Miss A worked as a Cell Leader assisting in the assembly of various pieces of equipment in her job for a large corporation where she had worked for many years without any problems. However, when she was required to use an air wrench for a task for which it was not suitable, it subjected her to a high vibration and she then developed Vibration White Finger.
After her complaints to the employer, the piece of equipment was replaced by a low vibration gun but when this broke down she was then required to use the original air wrench, aggravating the problems and causing them to return. Due to her injuries she required some time off work and medical treatment. It was at this point that she contacted Nelsons for legal advice on making a claim for compensation.
Vibration White Finger Was Caused by the Clients Nature of Work
Nelsons submitted full details of the claim to her employers who admitted liability, subject to evidence of her condition and that this was caused by her work. A medical report was obtained which supported the claim and Nelsons were able to agree a settlement of £4,750.00 in compensation for Miss A.
