Mrs B was undergoing an operation and whilst the anaesthetic was being given, her upper left central incisor was fractured. Mrs B required the root of the fractured tooth to be extracted and needed a partial denture. She then had to undergo further remedial surgery to the same tooth following ongoing complications.
Mrs B suffered pain and discomfort as a result of her tooth being fractured and had to pay privately for adjustments to the acrylic denture. The acrylic denture caused further problems and she eventually needed to pay for a chrome denture replacement.
Compensation for Clinical Negligence was Awarded
The hospital admitted liability for fracturing the tooth and the associated pain and suffering, and Baishali Majumdar was able to recover £3,300 in compensation for Mrs B.
