Mrs L had an accident as a passenger on a bus when it went around a corner too quickly, causing her to fall and land on her knee.
X-rays confirmed that Mrs L had suffered a displaced fracture of her left knee which required a total knee replacement and resulted in several weeks in hospital including an intensive course of physiotherapy.
Prior to the accident, Mrs L was a very active 84 year old who was independent and able to go out and about without any problems, including regularly attending dances with her friends.
Following the accident, Mrs L was virtually housebound and required help and assistance with her daily care.
Medical Evidence Supported the Compensation Claim.
Nelsons obtained medical evidence from an independent Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and pursued a claim for compensation against the bus company alleging negligence against their driver.
The bus company admitted liability and Nelsons were able to recover £16,500 in compensation for Mrs L’s injuries.
